5 Powerful Ways To Believe In Yourself

Believe in Yourself

Before any goal, or your truest measure of success can be accomplished, you must first believe in yourself. You can work towards anything you want, with all the amount of dedication and discipline in your being, but if you cannot see yourself having it, or knowing that you WILL achieve it, it’s highly unlikely you will ever receive it. So how do you truly believe in yourself? How do you learn to overcome self-doubt and accomplish your goals and dreams? Here are 5 powerful ways to do it.

1 – Get Rid of Negative People and Hang Around People Who Support You

It’s good sometimes to keep your goals and desires to yourself but if there is someone in your life that you know would laugh at you or put you down if they knew them, get rid of those people now! Life is short. Surround yourself with people who believe in you, support you, and encourage you. The more you hang out with people who are negative and put you down, the more you will have trouble believing in yourself.

2 – Remember Your Success

It’s amazing that people are so quick to forget all the great things they’ve accomplished but can remember specific, small failures from 20 years ago. If you want to believe in yourself today and in the future, you have to remember the successes you’ve had in the past. A great way to keep track of all the great things you accomplish is to write them down. Every time you do something amazing, write it down in a notebook. Then the next time you feel like a failure, read from it.

3 – Give Yourself Permission To Fail

Everyone fails. It’s a part of the process and without failure you can never really learn and grow. It is in adversity and rough times that you are refined and made stronger. When you fall flat on your butt don’t beat yourself up about it. Learn as much as you can from it, forgive yourself, and leave it behind for good. You have permission to fail.

4 – Do Things Daily That Make You Uncomfortable

To be successful in life you have to get out of your comfort zone. You have to put yourself out there and get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Do something every day that takes a little bit of courage. If you are not very social, start up a conversation with someone new. If you are afraid to raise your hand and give input at a meeting, do it at the next meeting. These little victories will build up courage a bit at a time, and it will become easy to believe in yourself.

5 – Change Your Internal Dialogue

That voice in your head saying you can’t do it or you are not good enough is powerful. All lies, but powerful none-the-less. You need to quiet that negative voice by replacing it with positive internal dialogue. A great way to do this is to immediately say something positive over and over in your mind, when a negative thought pops up. For example, if your thoughts say “I’ll embarrass myself if I give this presentation”, immediately repeat in your mind, “I’m going to knock this out the park.” It might seem silly but these positive internal messages will begin to rewire your brain.
